Buceando en la riqueza multivariante encerrada en el ser de las cosas, el economista trata de entender mejor esa realidad buscando y descubriendo su valía para el hombre. Investiga, analiza, experimenta, corrige, vuelve a investigar sobre los distintos matices descubiertos en esa realidad interconexionada, rectificando anteriores afirmaciones. Todo ello lo realiza para observar un aspecto de esa realidad, el valor, distinta a la belleza, a la cantidad, al color, a la verdad…, aunque en todos los casos la fuente de conocimiento es la misma: el ser de las cosas. Hace comparaciones del valor de unas cosas con otras; descubre que unas valen más que otras; investiga por qué unas valen más hoy que ayer y otras valen menos. Si la realidad material tiene diversos grados de ser, así las distintas realidades tienen diversos grados en su valor económico. De la plenitud, siempre inabarcable en su totalidad, del ser de las cosas se nutre la riqueza multicolor plena de matices y a la vez unificada y unificadora del valor económico.
